Classes are designed around a particular focus such as Qi Gong or Kung Fu. However, classes focus around the needs of individual students, skill level, and general interest. All classes revolve around the understanding of qi.
We practice Southern Shaolin Wei Tuo Kung Fu. We practice Internal Kung Fu which is more than fighting or self-defense. It is about a whole way of life and to "know thyself, the greatest of all victories" and "to know yourself is enlightenment": wisdom from different sages from around the world. In this process, students learn self-confidence, will power, virtue, discipline, humility, harmony in the self and in nature, and many more positive character attributes. Kung Fu classes at the Wei Tuo Academy also include philosophy, basic Traditional Chinese Medicine, meditation, nutrition, and other useful knowledge that will take a person far in life.
We practice Wei Tuo Chan meditation. Meditation is one of the most simple, and because of that, one of the most difficult practices in Kung Fu, Tai Chi or Qi Gong training. Meditation gives us time to learn about our own minds by learning to be one with it. The mind goes from one thought to the next even though we do not want it to do so. We learn to control the mind to work for us instead of against us. Too many people feel that they cannot meditate because they cannot focus. That is the case for everyone, even the greatest meditation masters started with a wild mind that they learned to control.

It is great for everyone of all ages. No matter a person's age, there will be some imbalances, and Qi Gong is the way back to balance!
We practice Yang Style Tai Chi Chuan. Tai Chi is more than an exercise to relax and find balance. As part of the training, we learn to control the mind and body and learn the connections between the two. This class will focus on moves for basic self-defense. One does not need to be a skilled martial artist to learn moves that can help stop an attacker. Martial arts takes years of training and refining one's skills. Self-defense is the most basic and effective strikes to give an opportunity to get to safety.
